The Lady Talks

Dressed immaculately,
With gold jewellery,
The lady sits...

She looks uncertain of herself,
With a few bags on her side,
The wrinkles giving out her age.

As the journey continues,
She takes a call,
Speaks as loud as she can.

Looks at me,
Apologizes, and I just smile.
And then quite suddenly she talks.

She talks about life,
About its fragility,
But most importantly about people.

And all this, to the strangers beside her,
I didn't know what to say,
So I kept nodding.

She slept a bit later,
While I kept wondering,
what made her speak?

I sometimes, think about her,
And the answer to that question,
I have still not found.
